Those Gorgeous Indigo Tomatoes!

October 8, 2015

These blue-black tomatoes are very high in anthocyanins, which are also found in blueberries, and is a very powerful antioxidant. They have a typical indeterminate plant habit and produce many small to medium sized fruit. The more sun, the bluer the fruit’s skin. Hybrids of these tomatoes that are found in the Galapagos. We are carrying four varieties this year.

Indigo Rose:   2” fruit in clusters.  The blackest tomato yet.

Indigo Apple:  2-3” fruit in clusters with a very sweet flavor.  Great disease resistance.

Indigo Dancing with Smurfs:  Strange name, but this is a heavy bearer of purple cherries. Exceptional flavor.

Indigo Sun:  Yellow cherry type which have a great blend of sugars and acid to produce aromatic flavor. Purple coloring at the top of the fruit.

A very healthy choice in tomato growing for the Florida garden!
